Olivier Caillabet is a creative, culinary professional, and naturalist currently based in Washington D.C.  Born to French and English parents and raised in Ireland,  his international perspective and extensive travels give him a unique outlook on the modern world. And while his career has been primarily centered around food, he is ultimately concerned with the shared human experience, and how art and food influence the way we view the world.

Olivier grew up working the family business, a French restaurant in Ireland, setting him up for a diverse career in the culinary industry. He would eventually branch out into conservation work after earning his Undergraduate Degree in Zoology from Trinity College Dublin and his Master’s in Primate Conservation at Oxford Brookes University. He spent several years in Southeast Asia, where he worked for a non-profit investigating wildlife trade, before moving to the US, where he is now chef and partner at a Michelin-rated ramen bar & izakaya since 2017.

Looking for a way to put his experiences into physical form, Olivier took up pottery in 2020 and began sharing an increasingly intricate body of work. His creations contain themes, reflecting his time traveling the globe. As he continues to broaden his horizons, Olivier looks forward to continuing to make meaningful connections with people through his work.
